Birophil is a beer lover and enthusiast, an expert in beer types and styles, a collector of beer-related items, such as labels, bottle caps, coasters, mugs, and many others. Unlike a beer drinker, a birophil not only likes to drink beer, but this passion develops into a desire to gain knowledge about it and collect items related to it. A birophil does not treat beer only as a refreshing drink, but as part of human culinary and material culture. A birophil-collector builds his collection most often from one field, searching for the oldest, most valuable, rarest, most original or exotic exhibits. He values the uniqueness of the item he owns, delves into its history and the circumstances of its creation.
